The course so far...

Despite CSC236 being a morning class, it is one of my favourite course this year so far. Math was one of those easy courses in high school, where studying 1 hour before the test can get you anywhere from 80% to 90% if you didnt fall asleep in class.
But, thats not to say that I liked math. I didn't enjoy it. However, taking CSC165 and then CSC236 really opened my eyes what "Math" really is about. I am fondly interested in the subject now... more so than any others in the past. I am also very pleased to have Professor Danny Heap. Kudos for making this course as painless as possible, and it really shows from a student's perspective approaching some of the contents for the first time. Just Thank you =)

Ok so up to this point, we had 2 quizes and 1 assignment due. The quizes were pretty straight-forward and it tested whether or not we understood the topic taught in that week. I've nailed both quizes and was pretty happy about that. The assignment was also very similar to the problems we've discussed or went over in class aside from the last question Q4 !
Perhaps, I didn't fully grasp the ins and outs of Complete Induction before I approached the problem.
But listing examples really helped.

010 - represents a mirror set. (01 and 10)
01 - forming only 1 odd subset
then combine the two, 0101.  even + odd which results in odd number of subsets.
Then I formulated my hypothesis keeping mind of the properties of binary string.
I hope I did enough proving for this question...

Yes, so overall, my experience in CSC236 is fantastic. I hope to stay on top of my course work and maintain a weekly slog. I better get goin and study for the test coming up. Good luck !
